I was speaking in general about the media. It's very common to have the media report "accidents" before the blood is even dry or the bodies are cold. The police haven't even identified the driver or the victims to find out if they know one another and the reporters are using the word accident to report what could just as easily be a premeditated homicide. In any case the car manufacturers should be held liable. Cars are a dangerous product because they are too heavy and move too fast. The maximum speed of a car should be 30mph on main roads and 20mph in residential areas. We have the technology for it.
I don't so happily welcome our dystopian future. I don't need my car to police me. I can't where you're coming from on that, but it's kind of a horrifying thought imo. You're absolutely correct about the safety matter, but that's also a pretty steep cost for safety. I'm very conflicted.
