Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

SFOS is very good in that regard, especially on the official devices with Android Support. It mostly boils down to how much you need the various Android apps and whether they work. The biggest issue seems to be banking apps. I'm lucky that my works, but many of them don't.
RCS does not work, AFAIK. No idea about CJK, but I think Japanese is officially supported. NFC payments don't work. No idea about 5G.
I daily drived my Xperia 10 III for over a year, it was fine, though there were things that needed fixing. Those seem to be fixed now, so I'm thinking of daily driving it again.
