I’m looking for movies along the vibes of The Seventh Seal, Stalker, Raise the Red Lantern, The Passion of Joan of Arc.

Movies where the camera is a drill into the human soul somehow. Painful to watch, but enlightening.

What I’m loving about Decalogue so far is that we went from something that could be easily retooled into a God’s Not Dead installment to “I cheated on my husband who’s dying of AIDS. Is it okay to have an abortion?”

That is just classic Kieślowski. Always presenting dilemmas and asking questions of the viewer, never preaching or presenting any answers himself. Even the interpretation of the commandments is very loose and not always straightforward.

Very curious to hear your thoughts about some of the episodes coming up.
