Etymology

Borrowed from Swedish salmiak, ultimately from a confluence of Latin sal armoniacum and Latin sal ammoniacum.

Only tangentially related, but that stuff is potent.

I've only had it once, when a friend brought some back here to the US, but it is an experience I doubt I'll ever forget.
