Interesting project.
Seems somewhat similar to syncthing (really too bad that they don't have enough resources to maintain their Android app), but with more features planned in the future.
Curious regarding thoughts on open sourcing the project.
Same thing here. If I don't see a source code repository, the result is an obvious no-go. Especially because I'm pretty sure there are others, similar projects that either exist in the wider closed source space.
Accountability is an important thing for these kinds of apps. Unfortunately, if you don't have a reputation online, that's about as bad as having a bad reputation. No offense intended, it's just inevitable.

this project is an investigation into monetization by going close source (to create something competitive).
A separate but related chat project is a beefier version for the functionality seen in the parent post. Id be interested to get feedback on it just as much.
