Michael Collins (the guy in the command module that flew around the moon for Apollo 11) spent part of his childhood in Ohio, meaning he is the person who lived in ohio and was able to acheive being the farthest distance away from it.

oooh nice I was going to say Neil Armstrong but obv. the module in orbit was flying further away than the surface of the moon.

Plus, it's well-known that Armstrong's first words on stepping on the barren surface of the moon were: "Looks like Cleveland on a Saturday night." lmao gottem.

Ohio produces more astronauts per capita than any other state including two of the most notable: John Glenn (who also fled ohio to go to the senate) and Niel Armstrong.
