Is that for people in the parade? Or forced to watch it in person?

[–] scott@lemmy.org 83 points 2 months ago (2 children)

OK I had to look it up but the joke is "86" as in "get rid of" and 47, that is, Trump

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 31 points 2 months ago

Aaaahhh, I totally missed that. The comma threw me off thinking it was a real number.

Didn't some Fox blithering idiots interpret that as a death threat or something a few weeks ago?

[–] Nusm@yall.theatl.social 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Everything is a threat to them. They want to be victims sooooo bad.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 5 points 2 months ago

Here it is.

God. That was only as recent as the 20th of May. Seems like forever ago. Can we drain the zone, please?

They advertised for seat fillers, so a lot of those people were literally paid to be there.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

More likely they were promised payment, but have yet to collect.

If anyone dealing with him doesn't get paid up front, that's on them at this point, though.

IF that’s the same thing I’m thinking of, that was a satire piece. BUT it’s possible there was something else I didn’t see after that.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

You saw a satire ad. That was not real.

[–] ch00f@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Show me a photo of someone holding the check they received for filling a seat.

Well never get the real numbers. Im sure at least half weren't there willingly.
