MaM is the absolute best for audiobooks IMO. Always have what I want, a friendly and helpful community and from what I hear the most forgiving private tracker around.

ABT isn't bad either. You get a good spread with both.

I use myanonamouse. Had to back then, none of the public trackers were good. Sounds like they might be better now though. MaM is the only private tracker I'm on.

Heads up about myanonamouse - they forbid VPNs during the initial interview, although apparently they allow VPNs after that.

Something funny about all kinds of private trackers that demand you not use a VPN and reveal all sort of stuff about you. Just feels so backwards lol

Right? I see lots of people recommending MaM for audiobooks, but not allowing VPN during the initial registration process is a hard no for me. Oh well.

Apparently their tech stack is way too old. So they have some weird restrictions.

very "you have to tell me if you're a cop, right?" vibes

Do i have to log in to download from audiobookbay?

[–] Arkhive@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 months ago

bugmenot usually has a few working audiobookbay logins if you don’t want to deal with setting up an account

You can grab the hash and bang it into a magnet link converter like this one: http://www.romanr.info/magnet.html

Ditto. ABB and then use Audiobookshelf.

[–] curbstickle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago

ABB is what I mostly use, going to have to give MAM a go again (didnt really do much audio books for a long while)
