Why would anything collapse? What a dumb thing to say. These people already don't do anything but leech off the system. We'd have a more effective government and we'd kick the real welfare queens out.

By society they mean the veneer on brutal capitalism that allows them to do whatever the fuck they want while we get hosed
FUD let's them scare people into accepting fascist policy like the secret police & concentration camps by vilifying immigrants instead of the actual source of voters' problems, billionaires and the way their wealth hoarding destabilizes democracies.
This is what a by-election is for. Someone is removed/resigns from office, or dies in office, surely you just run a by-election?
At least this is what we do in Australia for our house of reps (there's a different system for the senate since electorates are state-wide).
