Comic panels taken out of comics so we can make fun of them!! We love the golden age stuff!

Rules:

  1. Comics must come from actual comic books. No AI or Photoshops.

  2. Single panels are preferred.

  3. Comics should be unintentionally funny. Spider-man cracking wise is not what this is about.

  4. Don't be a dick.

  5. I can't believe I've had to add this... NO RACISM.

So sad that the show bombed: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/she_hulk_attorney_at_law

Otherwise I totally would have dug into it...

She-Hulk was awesome and fun. Ppl today fucking hate fun and take everything too seriously.

[–] Flagstaff@programming.dev 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I will check it out, thanks! Haven't been on D+ in a while but I absolutely loved The Mandalorian (at least S1-2).

if you go in just get cozy and go along for the ride! it's fun and Tatiana is a joy to watch, imo

Started pretty decent but man I can't remember the last time I saw show fall off the tracks that hard that fast.

What a truly awful show. I ended up hate watching it, just to give it the full chance. I've always liked She-Hulk and always wanted her to be in more things. IMO, she's way more interesting than Hulk. She's supposed to be a strong, confident, funny, intelligent woman, everything the shoes version wasn't. The show butchered everything about her, and actively tried to make comic fans and MCU fans hate her (and IMO they succeeded). Like someone hate wrote it, angry at their ex and the show was a medium.

Did they lean into anything to do with the abomination? No. And our basically abomination and the leader are now out of the MCU.

Did they lean into her being a lawyer? No. An interesting courtroom show with a fast pace rotation of heroes and villains... Could have been interesting

Did they lean into her superpowers... Also no. There's a little showcase here and there but nothing really. What did she do with her powers, she catfished a bunch of men, and then got pissed off at all of them because she lied to them.

And that ending was so bad. Attempting to use meta humor to explain away the terrible CG. The absolutely stupid Kevin Feige bot thing.

Wanda Vision was a fun watch with a cool unique delivery I enjoyed. Multiple layers of storytelling and themes.

Loki had a generally fun story, it did a great job of doing world building (that you no fault of its own sort of fizzled out). It had several comedy tones that really reminded me of Thor 3. I still get a kick out of Loki having an existential identity crisis on whether or not he's a robot.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was one I liked, though I know it's not a popular one. That show did everything. Captain America: Brave New World tried to do but did it better in every single way. I look forward to every episode of the show. I look forward to the ending of the movie so it would be done.

But She-Hulk, it insulted and hated the original material, and it's viewers.

I liked She-Hulk. It should have been better. But I did really enjoy the show. It was too preachy, it wasn't flushed out as well as it should have been. But some of the things were funny, and the story was okay. I think of given another season it could have found its voice...or it could have ended up like that 90s show and the second season was worse than the first

It was better than the hate it got. It wasn't great, but it was a fun watch.

[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The echoes my sentiments. Not the best thing ever but I was certainly entertained.

[–] curbstickle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'd even say I'd enjoy a few more seasons.

It was fun.

[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 11 points 1 week ago

I'd definitely take a second helping.

I was on a crew that made that show and I gotta say I wanted to like it. They're fun comics and it seemed like we were keeping pretty true to them with the mcu flavoring on it.

Watching most of it felt like a commercial for future/ speculative mcu projects.

I agree with you, its better than the hate it got, but definitely the worst of those shows.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 7 points 6 days ago

I like the implication that your mind simply edited out the trauma of Secret Invasion.

[–] Karjalan@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago (2 children)

The worst of those shows? Iron fist would like a word.

I didn't watch secret invasion but I haven't heard a single good thing about it.

[–] Doublenut@lemmy.zip 4 points 6 days ago

Well I wasn't considering iron fist part of those shows but I guess now that they've brought that world into the mcu with dare devil you would. E right.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 1 points 6 days ago

Iron Fist?

You mean the Danny Rand Danny Rand Danny Rand Show?

[–] ninjabard@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I finished She Hulk. I could not force myself to finish Secret Invasion.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

I watched that whole damn thing. I watched it because after watching the Marvels and being confused about everything I figured you had to have seen secret Invasion to understand it. But nope. Secret Invasion did not set up the Marvels at all. No explanation for anything that was happening. So not only did I waste my time, not only did I watch a terrible show, I got literally nothing out of it.

[–] Doublenut@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh fare fare, I actually forgot about secret invasion. So must have been pretty bad.

[–] ook@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 6 days ago

So bad, that... it got good again? No, not this time.

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I watched the first episode then immediately skipped to the last. I could make it more than 2.5 episodes into Ironheart before turning it off.

[–] Pronell@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago

Just watch the damn thing.

It's pretty fun, as others said.
