That’s like saying trump invaded the u.s. you guys voted for him or stood aside to let him win
You didn't mention the third group though. More of us voted against him and are stuck in this nightmare.
Yupp, because all nations are monoliths, nuance doesn't exist, and 347 million Americans all voted the exact same way with the exact same feelings.
Stop acting like fascism is this easy thing to avoid, and give it the intense analysis it deserves so we can actually fucking figure out how to prevent it. Seriously, if the only thing you can contribute to the conversation is "well they voted for it," please sit down so the adults can work on a real solution.

Republicans have been stacking the deck for themselves for decades via voter suppression, gerrymandering and other tactics. Meanwhile, our other party has been infiltrated by corporate stooges who support their donors more than people. It wasn't a military invasion, but it was a slow erosion of the agency of the people.
Trump is the end result of 30+ years of a Christian nationalist take over of the US.
Those corporate stooges all won their primaries. America is fucked because Americans spent decades thinking that they could bring about change by listening to the right music and watching the right movies, and that everything else would just take care of itself.
Social manipulation has been engaged on American soil for decades. Our political landscape has turned around radically in the last half-century, I know because I've watched it. It's a tactic for destroying democracy that's been done around the world over and over.
Of fucking COURSE people voted for him you dipshit, that's the idea, that's how nazis did it too, they gained popular sentiment through populism and shifting blame for problems onto marginalized groups, this is fascism 101, it preys on human weaknesses and mental backdoors.
You are vulnerable to it also. Everyone who thinks nazis or trump supporters are some kind of inhuman entity are themselves more vulnerable than anyone else. Educate yourself before spouting this nonsense.
My jab at Americans is that they complained politics is boring, and now they regret it.
