No, it's a pejorative used against the exact same people "commie," "pinko," and "red" have been used against. It's just a pejorative for communists in usage.

No. Not all communists are authoritarian communists. We don't all need some Führerkult.

Again, "tankie" is used against the exact same people "commie," "pinko," and "red" are, against communists. If your point is that some people wish to think of themselves as communists while disapproving of every existing socialist project in the real world, then I would say that those fringe few "left" anticommunists aren't the ones referred to as "commie," "pinko," or "red" either.
