I once was made to sit out from recess for... I don't know, like 4 times, which means two days of no recess, for not bringing a pencil to the reading circle.

Some teachers are shit, and others only know punishment as a way to correct behavior and then try to apply it to shaping behavior.

do i not know what recess means, or do you just go from class to class without breaks?

edit: i don't know what recess means. i thought it was generally a break between two classes. apparently you have those plus longer ones called recess. in that case that should be normal.

That was what we got when I was a kid. Once in the morning, once in the afternoon. 20 minutes or so.

I feel like there are a lot of teachers that have no business teaching.

There's only two types of teachers you get at the pay level most schools have and the ones that genuinely care and just want to better children through education are few and far between.
