He was not registered republican. He did not donate to trump. He has a pretty common first and last name. Some people found someone with the same name in the voter and donor databases, but on further review it was someone else.

The most current word from most publications seems to say that the shooter did not donate to trump, and was not registered with a party affiliation, and was an inactive voter not voting in the past few elections.

I don't this this says much about his political ~~affiliation~~ leaning. Young people rarely have the disposable income to donate to political campaigns, and because of how american elections work with fptp districts, voting in a red state in a red city where 75% of the population votes republican would make no difference in the outcome, regardless of leaning.

Most voters in this country are not able to make a meaningful choice at the ballot box, which is a contributing factor to the pitifully low voter turnout.
