Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

They should say this publicly, instead of behind closed doors.

Cowards. We won’t forget.

It's because it's not true. Capitalism is in crisis. It's rate of profit will fall and Americas entire economy is dependent on finance and oil capital. Both of which are in crisis.

The oligarchs gave power to the fascist to protect their profits. The tarrifs are nothing more than a war on the working class.

They will enjoy the free labor from the concentration camps.

The only CEOs that care will be the ones who's companies fail as the concentration of capital continues. These tarrifs and other policies are designed for just that. To benefit the top oligarchs that align themselves with the fascist.

Don't expect the capitalist to be the ones to fight Fascism. They will lose to big capital that aligns with it.

Cowards. We won’t forget.

Sadly, as a populace, we sure as fuck will, and faster than we should.

Some of us won't forget. 🤜🤛

(sadly the best we can hope for is that enough of us won't forget)

I'd like to think with trump being such a disaster for everything, that people will write the right wing off, but this is america we're talking about. That won't happen.

After 2020 I thought he was surely cooked. Then after Jan 06 I thought surely no one with sense wants to do anything but run as fast as they can from these cultists, and going into 2024 I thought Kamala isn't perfect but at least everyone finally has trump's number.

Then I woke up the day after the 2024 election:

The sad truth is a huge part of this country is OK with fascism and at least as many seem to be ambivalent. (or were so until sometime after November, 2024)

We might get a temp reprieve again like after WWII until enough of us that are alive now die off, then folks will forget again. That's how we got Israel speed-running Holocaust 2.0 and Trump working hard on Hitler 2.0. The folks who just want bottomless power and wealth never stopped wanting it and the folks who remembered how bad it could get eventually lost the numbers game.

Sorry to sound so damn pessimistic but the one thing I really looked around after decades on the planet and could feel proud of about humanity was that at the very least we were getting better, however slowly.

Now I'm less sure. Now I'm starting to think it's a cycle that's just long enough that most of us don't perceive it.

Don't forget the penis size compliment, also.

Say it publicly and you got yourself a new customer.

They didn't exactly keep this private either, otherwise how would we know? LoL
