It's good news, IF you don't consider the fact that there are four other patches.

Those garbage patches have been there for years though. It's not like the plastic in the Pacific patch is just getting shuttled to the other patches.

The existence of other plastic patches doesn't detract from the positive impact of cleaning up the Pacific patch
