@ValueSubtracted I don't know if this is just my instance (mstdn.social) or what, but for the last few days when I click a link in a post from startrek.website I don't go to the link, instead I get a JSON payload delivered as plaintext.
It's not just you. I'm only on the startrek.website instance and more often than not I have to reload the page 2 to 4 times to not get the JSON stuff. I'm on a laptop, and it happens on both Firefox and Chrome. Ever since the migrating of hosts. I thought it was related to wonkiness/slowness that would go away with time. No one else mentioned it before, so I thought is was something about my equipment or connection.
Any slowness should be gone by now, I haven't seen the JSON thing happen to me yet, but I'll look into it. Next time it happens to you can you DM me a screenshot?
It is happening to me randomly whenever I visit startrek.website's actual website instead of viewing it through my home instance, I just sent a screenshot to you in DMs
It was happening a lot more before but a lot less now, but it still happens
I think I might have fixed it, let me know if you encounter it again.
I'll screenshot the next time it happens. I did copy the text from the last time I had a JSON screen and pasted that text to Notepad. I have pasted that info in a PM to you. All that text, with the JSON bar at the top, is what I get at times instead of the startrek.website page I'm trying for.
I think I might have fixed it, let me know if you encounter it again.
Thank you! I will. And, I'm happy to report that I had no JSON screen just now. 🖖🏾
Will do as well.
For me it has occurred when I am setting up a comment and copying a link from another tab to add. I’ve had at least a couple of comments that I’ve lost and had to re-enter.
The long hamster wheel to load communities has been reduced over the past week, but still much less smooth than on the previous server for me.
I think I might have fixed it, let me know if you encounter it again.
Will do. Thanks.
Thanks, I will pass that along!
I apologize for hijacking your post.
I think I might have fixed it, let me know if you encounter it again.
@Admin I just encountered it again, in the post at https://startrek.website/post/2041553 Clicking on the link in the post is OK. Clicking on thhe thumbnail, though, delivers the JSON in a new window.
Ugh thanks for letting me know, does it happen every time you click it? And would you say the problem has been less frequent overall?
@Admin Yes, it's repeatable on that post. This is the first time I've seen the problem since we last spoke.
Should be fixed now. Try it again (clear your cache first).
