Dunking on Tankies from a leftist perspective.
A tankie is someone who defends/supports authoritarian or even totalitarian regimes who call themselves "socialist". The term originated from people supporting the 1956 invasion of Hungary by the Soviet Union. Nowadays they are just terminally online, denying genocides, and falling for totalitarian propaganda and calling such regimes "true democracies". remember to censor usernames when necessary.

I'm more curious what happens when Republicans win a Presidential election cycle and we all have to scramble to declare Russia an ally in our glorious crusade against Evil China.
McCarthy's already tapped the breaks on more Ukrainian spending by threatening a government shutdown. Dems are posed to lose the Senate in 2024. And the folks coming in to replace the Schumercrats are right-wing extremist schmucks that were happy to pale around with the petro-states under Trump. The front-runner to stand against four more years of Trump is an increasingly unpopular geriatric blue dog and his nitwit VP.
Given that Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey are all aligning with Russia in this fight and the GOP donor base is heavily invested in all three of them... idk, man. I think there's a better chance of Putin toasting his new buddies on a visit to the Oval Office than Zelansky kicking up his heels in a newly liberated Crimea inside the next two years.
Bro What?
I'm here to dab on Tankies not for your political analysis.
> Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey are all aligning with Russia
Wat? Israel and Saudi is irrelevant to Ukraine. Turkey is friendly to Ukraine and sells them nice drones. Also you forgot all the ex-Soviet states around Russia plus the EU. Ukraine herself are rebuilding their own armaments industry.
The problem is that they've been staunch economic allies of Russia. Two trillion dollar economies that are foundational to the trade of goods and services across the continent can't be ignored.
Turkey sells drones to anyone with scratch. If the Russians didn't have superior models, they'd also be buying.
Hungary is more closely aligned with Russia than not. Romania and Moldovia are staying out of it. Given the number of times Ukrainian ordinance has landed on Polish turf and the number of refugees spilling onto the Polish side of the border, they're quickly losing patience with their neighbor.
