Because Amerika's military budget is as ballooned as it is specifcally to keep their neocolonies (and those they wish they could neocolonize) from revolting and taking up socialist mantles. We wouldn't still be blockading and committing genocide as a result in Cuba otherwise. Liberals don't like hearing their malfeasance; so they at least try to stomp it out everywhere it can be found-- all the anti-'tankie' propaganda you find is evidence of that.
