The building trades are always looking for people that want to show up and get paid to learn. It’s not always pleasant work, but the pay and benefits are stellar. Look up operating engineers, electricians, pipe fitters, laborers, carpenters, iron workers, sheet metal workers, etc followed by the word “local” and the name of your city or state. Almost all of them will have a website with links to an apprenticeship application. I spent 3 years getting paid to be educated and currently earn six figures.

The real question is, can you wake up at 4am reliably six days a week. Most people don’t want to and I can’t say I blame them.

Don’t wanna be a construction worker? Organize your own place of work. There are likely unions aligned with your industry.

Imagine thinking you get paid well for a trade that leaves you disabled by age 40.
