I realized I haven't been to my favourite pizza shop in many months (since before I moved). They were about a 10 minute trip, but they did the best pizza and once a month or so I'd make the hike because it was very worth it. Now I'm 11 minutes away and was going to get a pizza from there delivered. Apparently their maximum delivery distance is 10 minutes, and I'm just ever so slightly beyond their delivery area

I'm very sad now. They do the best pizza, and I'd probably be willing to catch a bus there (even in this weather), but unfortunately it would be a series of 3 buses all taking about 35 minutes + a 10 minute walk, and I don't think I want pizza so badly i'd do an almost 2 hour round trip

Give them a house address within 10min distance and wait for them there

I've always wanted to try this. Stand outside some strangers house and say you were waiting for a mate who's coming for dinner!

What just hang out on someone's porch? That could be dangerous.

Maybe pick a house at the corner or better yet next to a bus stop?

Be sure to wear black and a balaclava because it might be cold out there 👍

bread knife for the pizza too?

I think the kids use machetes these days.

[-] Baku@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

Am kid. Can confirm

[-] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Not all machetes are suitable for pizza though. Some are basically shaped like a pizza rocker with a handle, but others are too flat or have handles that restrict the pizza cutting motion. Those ones are fine for quartering a take-away chook but don't work well for pizza. It's really important to consider your preferred take-away style before choosing a machete.

I like the pointy end. Really good for getting stray food out of one's teeth.

[-] fullkitwanker@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago

Surely they can make an exception for that? Try speaking with the owner!

[-] Force_majeure122@aussie.zone 8 points 1 year ago

Agreed. Call them and tell them you love love love their pizza and used to get it often, but you've moved to 11 minutes away but can they please make an exception?

If it’s them delivering it just say you will pay an extra $5 or whatever. Probably more like $2 for 1 extra minute.

You just gotta find a new favourite. It's your duty now to try all the surrounding shops.
