I have a headlamp that's basically just a metal case wrapped around an 18650 cell and it is quite insane.
Were you planning on a solo visit to an abandoned mine or...?
While you're joking, this thought gives me untold anxiety.
I have a mining background, and abandoned mines are dangerous as fuck
How about unmapped medieval mines with wooden supports
40 days backpacking 800 Miles on the Arizona Trail.
Walking from Utah to Mexico, in November with gradually decreasing daylight. Lots of night hiking.
Could just leave the headlamp at the entrance pointing into the mine. That would probably light it all up anyway
I've used one for cycling.
Overkill? Maybe. Quite nice to have a dark country road lit up well enough to light up the road close AND far (most headlights have a tight beam that only does either).
Also I like the reusability/repairability of productd based on 18650 cells
