I loved this movie honestly
And that is fine. I personally thought it was okay. But it appeared to me that a lot of people had the sentiment that this was the first movie that ever āgets themā.
It doesnāt have to be. Thereās enough movies that depict isolation, loneliness, and outsiderism. But since this was coming from a supervillain franchise it seemed that a certain demographic suddenly stumbled into more serious topics processed through a movie with a familiar theme while they could have had that all along, just without the theme, but based in reality and executed better.
Edit: clarification
Yes, people liked a movie about isolation, loneliness, and outsiderism that met them halfway.
I dig directors like Aki KaurismƤki and Lars von Trier as much as anyone, but a lot of people don't find them "accessible".
Agreed, you gotta put in some work but itās worthwhile. Melancholia is the best movie about Depression Iāve seen so far.
Melancholia is about melancholy silly.
I thought it was a tribute to the Smashing Pumpkins album
