Sometimes it’s literally just do the first, simplest step. Like I’m a web developer, so for me its “okay let’s actually start the editor, and checkout the correct code branch”. Sometimes that’s enough to kick me off, sometimes I’ll have to come back a bit later and just do the next simplest step, but at least I’m moving toward doing what I’m supposed to do rather than just 100% browsing Lemmy
I figured this out when I was writing my bachelor's thesis. Open the latex editor in some tab and I was waaaayy more likely to actually work on it the next time I felt like I should. Otherwise just opening that page felt like an insurmountable step after which i'm clearly too exhausted to do anything else.
