Can someone explain the overall use case of signal? I know it’s good for encrypted chats and that’s about it :(

Its a messanger like Whatsapp, Fb messanger or iMessage.

Signal is like using sealed letters in the mail, where as other messaging apps are like using postcards.

It was a better alternative to Whatsapp until it no longer became capable of handling messages from Whatsapp.
