I think it is more important that you cared for them enough to try. Most people don't even give it a shot. In an ideal world we would have enough time to learn to play, at least for self satisfaction.

Among the few instruments I have, I feel most proud about assembling what is called Jaltarang. I've been able to get a full octave plus half on each side which enables me to play few tunes. I suck hard at it too but just the act of setting it up and getting it in tune is satisfying on its own.
