Is this the point where the Singularity bros claim that the first iteration of the Matrix where everyone was happy was rejected so naturally the only way to make it work is to introduce suffering?

I joke with my wife that we’re into bdsm because we’re hedonists raised catholic. It may be something like that, where you want a variety of intense sensations.
