Realistically though, when you start advocating for men issues you get immediately cancelled for being a men rights activist serial rapist who hates women, so I get why most men don't speak up.

When society constantly reminds you that you and your feelings don't matter, you never bring them up.

I feel like every other commercial on TV is for that crooked dick condition though.

Forever there was plenty of viagra marketing. There was long jokes and commentary about how so many men's issues are just accepted and known but many women's issues ignored. Breast cancer is basically the one thing that really broke out.

Also, it's not a contest. We should want everyone to be healthy.

There's also lots going on with prostate cancer research and awareness. Just because it's not a big or you aren't personally noticing it doesn't mean it isn't happening. September is prostate cancer awareness month.

You're right, it's not a contest, everyone should be healthy.

So why is nobody like actually talking about men's issues? Why is mentioning them a good reason to get labeled a mra incel?

And before people come up with 'september is prostate cancer month', 'international men's day exist '

Yeah, but who's actually talking about them?

Here every other ad is about HPV swabs and other women's issues.

Just because you personally aren’t hearing about it doesn’t mean people aren’t talking about it.

[-] redisdead@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

The only time you hear about it is when a feminist uses it to dismiss the opinions and feelings of men.

In reality nobody gives a flying fuck. Nobody wears anything on their lapel to virtue signal about it. There's no special edition news report dedicated to it, etc.

[-] gregorum@lemm.ee 1 points 7 months ago

If that’s the only time you ever hear about it, perhaps that’s suggestive of the types of conversations you have. I’ve never had that problem.

Or maybe stop listening to all the bullshit that Fox News and Newsmax keep telling you.

[-] gregorum@lemm.ee 1 points 7 months ago

And how’s that? You’re the one who keeps bringing up how “oppressed” men supposedly are while blaming the terrible mean women for it. I sure haven’t seen any of that, and here you are, insisting that the absence of it here is somehow magical proof you’re right, lmao…

[-] redisdead@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago

Notice how I haven't blamed 'women' for anything.

But sure, do go off about how I supposedly watch Newsmax and fox news.

Never question yourself.

[-] gregorum@lemm.ee -1 points 7 months ago

Everyone here noticed how you did blame women

[-] redisdead@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago

At no point I did. But again, it's easy to dismiss people's opinions and feelings when all you have to do is paint everyone you disagree with as a woman hater so I understand why you did so.

[-] gregorum@lemm.ee 0 points 7 months ago

It’s easy to dismiss your opinion because it’s sexist garbage

Oh, no! The consequences of your actions!

[-] redisdead@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago
[-] gregorum@lemm.ee 0 points 7 months ago

Yes, the evidence that expressing your sexist opinions and “feelings” has consequences. Facing the consequences of your own actions is not a state of victimhood.

It must be easy winning arguments on the internet when everyone you disagree with is a racist sexist bigot.

I hope you have the day you deserve.

Oh believe me, I'm not the victim here. Bless your heart.

Well, now, I suppose that depends on the issue. I’ve openly discussed and raised awareness for prostate cancer before and haven’t run into this problem.

Perhaps it’s your approach… or the specific issues you’re raising?
