KEVIN ROBERTS (HERITAGE FOUNDATION PRESIDENT): In spite of all this nonsense from the left, we are going to win. We're in the process of taking this country back. No one in the audience should be despairing.

No one should be discouraged. We ought to be really encouraged by what happened yesterday. And in spite of all of the injustice, which, of course, friends and audience of this show, of our friend Steve know, we are going to prevail.

Number two, to the point of the clips and, of course, your preview of the fact that I am an early American historian and love the Constitution. That Supreme Court ruling yesterday on immunity is vital, and it's vital for a lot of reasons. But I would go to Federalist No. 70.

you guys are going to have to vote like your lives depends on it, coz it probably does. at what point does this become civil war? it feels like you guys are in a death spiral, and the only way out of it is to literally take out the other side. honestly if the rest of the world has to come over there and bash your heads together we'll be properly pissed good luck We're all going to need Trump to lose signed, The World

Please send help. Please. Help us rest of world, you're our only hope.

[-] elbarto777@lemmy.world 21 points 4 months ago

Yeah right.

The only super power in the world "in need of external help."

We dug ourselves into this hellhole, we must get ourselves out of it

[-] ThePyroPython@lemmy.world 19 points 4 months ago

Yeah no. No one is going to intervene on your private continent where there's three guns per person. And unless those countries fancy getting friendlier with China, they'll just hold their noses when they deal with Trump. Like they did 2016 to 2020.

You've got the means already; get your guns, beans, and gasoline. And if you care about American democracy, and these chuckle-fucks try to kill it, then you're going to have to fight for it

Let's hope it doesn't come to that, but good luck.

The more infighting the US has, the less resources they have to bomb brown people. So go at it!

They allowed their governments to get away with way too much shit, time to pay up.

[-] Land_Strider@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago

That is a likeable conclusion for us non-western people, but eventually these white christian nationalist supremacists will openly wage crusade instead of still pretending not doing it. Breather from American bombs and militant group funding would definitely be welcome, but gotta make the best with that time before their focus turns outwards once again. If it comes to that in the first place, of course.

[-] Freefall@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

Yeah, you kinda gotta think about it...if the US falls, it won't fail and die, it will become evil. What side do you want them to be on in this next big war brewing? The world wars with the US on the other side seems rough for every good and decent person. Hell, Ukraine would be in a bad spot if the US was actively fighting along side the orks...well, Ukraine would be West-russia already, and that isn't even intending to speak ill of the Ukrainian heroes, it is just a shitty hypothetical reality. The US a big greedy resource vacuum that lets their corporations push them to meddle in world affairs, but they are also the insane PTSD soldier turned cop of the classroom keeping the other bully kids in line. It is a weird place to be, but the US feels like a floodgate that is tolerated, because without it, we have real bad things in the waters it holds back. So frustrating.

I'm not holding my breath for a change in the hegemony over the world towards Russia or China to be any better. I'm not pretending that an 80 year U.S. imperialism has been anything tolerable, either. This is unlike the Biden vs Trump situation, too. When the alluded damage reduction has been the primary damage creation source with such an intensity to create whole regions and families of militant and/or terrorist organizations directly and uncontrollably terrorizing common people, one might wonder if a monolithical state apparatus can be tried as an option for the common folk than a democracy for the privileged.

In before "tankie" screamed at me, check the start of the paragraph again. All I'm saying is that the PTSD soldier turned cop in your analogue may be keeping the other bullies in line, but is also leading to the creation of more bullies all the while doing the bullying themselves. It is not a floodgate, either. It is another obstacle in the lava of evil that causes the lava to flow from a different channel, not leading to any more further than the other channels while putting a blockade on them.

it will become evil.

So nothing will fundamentally change?

[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

You ain't seen nothin' yet.

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 8 points 4 months ago

We'll get "help" after we lose WWIII and West America is controlled by China and East America is controlled by the EU.
