Oklahoma’s top education official ordered public schools Thursday to incorporate the Bible into lessons for grades 5 through 12, the latest effort by conservatives to incorporate religion into classrooms.

The directive drew immediate condemnation from civil rights groups and supporters of the separation of church and state, with some calling it an abuse of power and a violation of the U.S. Constitution.

The order sent to districts across the state by Republican State Superintendent Ryan Walters says adherence to the mandate is compulsory and “immediate and strict compliance is expected.”

There's lots of ways, although voting is probably the only legal one I can think of.

Already tried that me and wife voted against that asshole. What other ways? Can't we get him impeached for violating the law?

No chance, the republikkklowns have zero integrity and even less morals. I don't believe in god but if that orange bastard chokes to death on a big mac in the upcoming days....I may start believing.

David has cut off foreskins from 3,672 enemies. He is required to have 9,000. How many more foreskins does he need to collect?

I don't remember if it was actually David or another character from the Bible nor how many foreskins were actually required and I'm not going to give a Bible site the click to figure that out.

Is there going to be a section of learning on the Quran? What about Buddhist texts? Any essay requirements for the Satanic Temple?

Sounds like propaganda with extra steps

Yeah, sounds like a good way to ensure no more Christians coming from Oklahoma. Honestly, as long as the students have to read the Bible and not just nitpicked sections of it or interpretations of it then I'd be down with this. There's a whole lot of useless stuff you have to read in school anyways, like Shakespeare.

I'd me the kid pointing out the scholarly consensus is the bible is not inerrant, not divinely inspired, not univocal. This worked well in poli-sci / government, but not in American History or Alternative Health.
