A handsome, old, cigar-smoking swordsman with a dog Kuato. #retirement goals

[-] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

This is so ancient that chihuahua probably passed away of old age

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

False! That Chihuahua is immortal.

[-] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Yeah... I'm usually on team "dogs are perfect and eternal" but my experiences have prejudiced me that chihuahuas are some kind of fake dog

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Other people's Chihuahuas are awful little demons. I hated Chihuahuas most of my life. Then my wife adopted one. They're something special, man. They're the cutest, funniest, most loving little creatures with their people. They're just too nervous to be their authentic selves around strangers, and most people don't do the required socialization that all dogs need with small dogs.

Honestly that's close enough to who I am as a person to be deeply uncomfortable

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Sounds like you found your spirit animal.

[-] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Tell nobody

Or I will bite you

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

Yes, lesser demons are technically still demons and thus immortal.

Well, I won't have any more dogs because I can no longer take proper care of one (much less multiple), but yeah, this would be me otherwise.

Hell, I have shown people my edged item collection with my dog on my lap before, I just wasn't as old as I am now lol. I'm particularly proud of a keris from bali that I got as a gift, and I remember showing it off to a small gathering at my home, while everyone was so busy playing with the dog that nobody even remembered the thing the next day. Like, c'mon, it's over a hundred years old, and has been in the same family until it was given to me.

In fairness, my dog at the time was amazing. I wouldn't have paid attention either.

"I've got swords of steel. Hail to the king, baby."

[-] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

I bought a Roman Gladius from a blacksmith at a Renaissance fair and was cutting my steak with it and every thing I could for the next couple weeks

[-] Hugh_Jeggs@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago

Christ I hope I have better taste in kitchen cabinets

[-] DrDominate@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Or better taste in paper towel holders that don't look like cocks.

[-] MagicShel@programming.dev 2 points 3 months ago

It's efficient to fill your house with things that have multiple uses.

[-] Shou@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Got a good taste in swords though.

[-] pigup@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Unrealistic, he lives in a house

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I will never be this cool.

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

All about dogs - dog breeds, dog training and behavior, news affecting dog owners or handlers, puppy pics, etc.

Rules (Will be refined later on).

  1. Don't be a dick. This should cover most things, just keep in mind that everyone started somewhere and try to be helpful rather than rude or judgmental.

  2. No personal attacks based on training style or tools.
Discussion of balanced training including proper use of aversives is allowed here.

  3. All breeds and mixes are welcome. You can criticize backyard breeding practices but don't pile on people because they own a specific breed or prefer purebreds or mixed breeds.

  4. Do not support backyard breeders or puppy mills. Please do not link to or suggest buying from high volume breeders or those with an obvious lack of standards and testing.

  5. Do not help or support fake service animals. Please do not encourage people to buy fake service dog vest or ESA letters to get around rental or other restrictions & do not give advice on how to misrepresent a dog as a service or support animal.
