Idk it kinda seems like they did her dirty.

[-] magnetosphere@fedia.io 16 points 2 months ago

Yeah. I like the Obama one better too.

Nah. Less red the better.

Keep red for communists, Republicans, and Satan.

Edit: people don't like jokes, apparently. Fine. All hail red! The first primary color of the rainbow!

[-] aalvare2@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

I get it but come now, the color red did nothing wrong.

It’s also ironically the color of liberalism in most other countries, worth pointing out given Lemmy is an international community. So that could sound confusingly aggressive to international readers.

As an AI nerd, this to me looks AI-generated.

What's with the teeth? The lower lip? What's with the variance in the necklace? The eyes look more 'real' than the rest and don't fit either. They're also at different heights looking in different directions. Why are the eyelashes on one eye only? Why, on the left eye are there shadows of eyelashes that don't exist towards the inner portion of the eye? Why do her gums look like they're bleeding? Why are some pearls on the earring melting into each other? Why "forward"? It sounds like something from the Simpsons

The whole thing seems like a joke.

Do we have a confirmation it's actually the guy from a credible source?

EDIT: added a few extra details I noticed.

Fully agreed, couldn't say it better myself. My guess is some intern slapped it out of a generative AI. There is a LORA for this exact type of poster for free. It would take about 5 seconds to make this.

Interesting. As the article notes, Shepard Fairey was very public about his disappointment with Obama. I guess, unlike many people on Lemmy, he realizes how this is a fight to save our democracy and accelerationism doesn’t work.

All those people may as well be bots, it’s pretty clear where the NPC trope comes from when these people exist and 538 has a straight-line for every graph

[-] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Shepard Fairy can fuck right off. He stole the original photo and tried to sue the source to hide the fact. I used to like him before all that.

[-] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

I guess the good thing is that he seems to be trying to do better. The sourcing and licensing is legit on this poster, and he appears to acknowledge that he was did a shitty thing by not properly crediting the source for the Hope illustration.

I'm all for forgiveness. It's just that losing trust in someone happens pretty quick, and the regaining of that trust takes time....

If he's made amends, that's good. I wouldn't know because i quit following him after that.

They’re free, but a lot of people seem to be making prints.
