Time crystals are a thing, they’re just not that thing.
I have never felt dumber than while reading that article and condensed matter physics, whatever tf that is
Solid matter physics would be a more straightforward name - it's just the physics of matter that isn't liquid or gas, which usually means crystals.
But also any crystal used in a clock is a time crystal.
In Czech, they used to be called "křemenné hodiny", which has the same ring to it. If you told someone these words today, they would imagine a clock meticulously carved out of a quartz block.
