Fun fact, birds can see a wider band of the electromagetic spectrum (still appears as violet to red but spaced further apart) which causes the sky to shift in color as the earth tilts on its axis relative to the electromagnetic field and this is currently hypothesized to be how they navigate and tell the seasons apart. So instead of noticing the changes in foliage, they might just prefer the sky to be a specific tone.

"Screw this, it's turning magenta here"

Alternatively, "there's too much color in this neighborhood". Those racist pricks. It's about time we exposed birds for their bigotry.

Can someone confirm how racist (or not) Mexico is?

Also my favorite comic! I have a shirt using this still because my friend knew how much I loved the comic!

I wish I could find the full comic but it was basically small inconvenience leads to large rage haha

Wow, thx. The archive is gold. The artists journey from pretty terrible to really great comics in 12 years is quite astonishing.

Winter is the best season.

You snowbirds don't know what you're missing.

No bugs, less sun, way less heat, no stupid lawn to maintain for the stupid HOA. Paradise!

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

no bugs

That is a considerable problem when bugs are a big part of your diet.

[–] meliaesc@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Jamaican here, no thanks.

[–] Vespair@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

I for one am glad this awful summer is finally over. I got out my extra blankie. This is the life :)

I love cold weather, but cold weather in the city kinda sucks.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Is hot weather in the city any better?

[–] thejoker954@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Somewhat.

At least there are some splashes of color and ocassional smells of nature.

Cold weather makes cities even more dystopian than they already are.

I canceled all events I wanted to visit, this week. It's too cold and everything hurts. My joints hurt and my ears just got an inflammation from being outside for one minute.

[–] LaVacaMariposa@mander.xyz 2 points 1 year ago

It "feels like" 96°F where I live 😫. I don't like the cold, but this is also a lot.
