As Boulder police commander Darren Fladung told Denver’s 9News, “I appreciate the fact that it’s drawing attention to the fact that we’d like people to slow down and not be on their phones, but there’s probably, again, a few more appropriate ways about getting that message out.”

Then why aren't you already doing those more appropriate things?

I mean......IS it offensive? Maybe if you already planned to kill kids.

Oh! I get it. It's offensive to cops. Got it.

I suspect the “Slow The Fuck Down.” one is the one they're saying is offensive.

[-] desktop_user@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 day ago

[-] WR5@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Unironically, probably yes.

They could've done "Slow The Truck Down"

The urge to slap a "don't tell me what to do" sign below is palpable.

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

They're cops. Of course they took offense at the second sign.

Kids, they are a hazard on a lot of workplaces

[-] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Thank goodness, cops are spending valuable resources on thisinstead of, you know, investigating real crime.

[-] Mr_Blott@feddit.uk 8 points 1 day ago

We've got ones that show a big sad face if you're going over the limit, and a big smiley face if you're under. Works for me cos I don't want to upset the sign

[-] ignotum@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Don't kill any kids today

"Aight, I'll come back tomorrow then"

[-] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

But then it'll still be today.

Stupid smart sign!

[-] ignotum@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

How is that possible? After a day "today" becomes "yesterday", how is the sign able to resist the flow of time like that?

[-] Jake_Farm@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 day ago

Why isn't the speed limit 25 mph if children play there?

[-] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Children aren’t playing there. It’s just the guy living down the street has some priors.

[-] Valmond@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

"Radar ahead!" scribbled on a cardboard.
