I’m sure some right-wing 1% is itching to get their hands on it.

I don't care about MSNBC. Cable news sucks. It's a format with five minutes of information to deliver and 24 hours to fill. Its a promise to make you wise, but with the same effort as ignorance.

Fox "News" has been an effective propaganda outlet because the right cares more about winning and the left cares more about being correct.

Too much repetition, discussion, opinions, and commercials. Just give me the news, there is plenty happening but it's easier and cheaper for them to just keep repeating the same few stories.

shouldn't have constantly sanewashed trump.

sholdn't have given the guy who launched trump 20 hours of television and a "best of" weekend show.

shouldn't have had a management team that was more interested in ratings than actually reporting on real news since the lewinsky affair (both meanings of the word).

should have brought back keith olbermann despite rachel maddow vetoing his latest comeback attempt.

shouldn't have fired tiffany cross and constructively fired mehdi hassan.

shouldn't have let the 20 hours of live tv morning guy dictate guests for all dayparts of the channel.

should have fired 20 hours of live tv morning guy and andrea "mrs. allen greenspan" mitchell 15 years ago at minimum.

msnbc has an uncertain future because they sure as fuck don't want to be the liberal network they would have a monopoly on and make lots and lots of money and their entire management team are a bunch of self indulgent idiots who failed up into their current positions and have no idea how to run a successful cable tv channel.

Good riddance. They've been shoveling neoliberal economic bs and military industrial complex war mongering for too long, and we need to turn to more far left media anyway.

Yeah, if you've seen the movie Don't Look Up, all the scenes where they go on the news desperately trying to warn people about their impending annihilation while the hosts are more concerned about maintaining the status quo and keeping an upbeat mood going, remind me of what it's like watching cable news like this.

OP doesn’t believe in anthropogenic climate change everyone! The more you know!

[-] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 weeks ago

I read that as anthropomorphic climate change and uhh, yeah. I'm not even a furry, I just have bad eyes

I don't watch a lot of TV news, and when I do it's very favorable to the right like CBS. Does MSNBC actually address right-wing extremism or does it sane wash them like the rest?

[-] robocall@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

Maybe they should have leaned into classical liberal views instead of hiring Republicans like Nicole Wallace and Joe Scarborough. Sure, they don't like Trump but their viewpoints are still terrible.

The 70 year olds that watch it will be saddened.
