Headache starting to lift. It's the nausea that gets me. The pain is bad, but when it's mixed with that sick stomach feeling it fucks you up.

That said, let me present cat tower 2:

You may notice its not being used. Because:

I'll be taking a break from buying cat towers for a while 🀣

Circlingday

It’s the day we start a new circle around the sun, and it’s the day after the big one.

Migraine. And dumb junkies next door screaming at 4am.

Fuck.

I got a direct call from a copper and I honestly thought the jig was up, my entire life of high crime had finally caught up to me and they were gonna ask me to exit the apartment with my hands up.

But no, they just needed access to my floor, and I guess I was one of the contacts they had for this address.

I will continue my life of crime until otherwise demanded.

My overnight oats this morning were a perfect blend, everything balanced well - sweet but not too sweet, a good amount of thick creamy yoghurt, a nice touch of vanilla. 10/10

I am home alone today and have a day off work. I might watch a movie, practise my instruments and actually log it in my practise diary, and take the dog for a walk.

I want to try and watch a movie a week this year.

accountabilityDog walk is done!

Can't believe it's already the 2nd of January. The year is speeding by so fast! Soon it'll be the 3rd. Perhaps, even the 4th or 5th? Who can know for sure.

[–] dumblederp@aussie.zone 10 points 6 months ago

Dang, the UV is staying high until 6pm. I thought it'd get earlier sooner with the solstice.

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 10 points 6 months ago (5 children)

Finally can relax now.

I’ve had my photo taken for my licence renewal. Was a super long line that went out of the post office this morning.

Did a lot of food shopping and snacks and drinks for the hot weekend and test cricket.

Going to indulge in making some dessert, jelly with two jars of morello cherries in it.

It’s going to be perfect for the next few hot days as a treat.

Got my apple and cinnamon hot cross buns and had a haircut as well.

Now I need to make dessert and have a coffee.

I’m tired!

Also, I’m taking the battle wagon in for repairs tomorrow. Someone drove into the back of me in November πŸ˜•

Almost exactly one year prior to that, someone crunched me in the side. That took like 6 weeks to repair.

It doesn’t really matter how careful you drive, someone will find you and smash you.

The first food I ate in the new year was hot cross bun, so the year is starting off good.

Today the Seagoons are going to Castlemaine by train. Such a pretty historic town. Will take some pics. πŸ™‚

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 9 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Sticks? no no no no no, you need to keep right away from sticks. Dangerous little buggers.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 10 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I think you've unlocked a few new phobias for a few of us here with your unfortunate stick encounter.

Oooh 2025 holiday...you gave me fever..FEVER!

feeling crappy vent

Still negative on the RAT for flu and the Rona but this is not good. Sitting up for a bit to keep my lungs clear. Head and face are so sore. Loaded up with paracetamol and Nurofen at 7pm.

Managed a good lunch but really struggling to eat dinner. Might just crawl into bed. Ugh just when I felt like I was finally relaxed. I am really upset. I also know I have a bad mental reaction to fever so might just yell into the void here for a bit.

At least I cleaned my fridge and bought fresh food before it hit. And finally watched guardians of the galaxy 3 - I had always had to turn it off at the sad animals before. Made it through. 4/5 racoons.

[–] mysticgreg@aussie.zone 8 points 6 months ago

Welp, back at work. Very tough to get out of bed this morning. Pray for Mojo.

Happy New Year Lemmites!

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 8 points 6 months ago (4 children)

Very disappointed with the lack of news regarding morons blowing their faces or limbs off with fireworks. Are we getting smarter as a country?

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 9 points 6 months ago (2 children)

A cybertruck exploded and killed the driver, out the front of a trump hotel in the US. I think that's as good as it's gonna get regarding idiots buying badly made toys lol

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

There were fireworks involved in the explosion as well.

I just had the first stage of my root canal done. I took Panadol ahead and let the dentist know that I don’t tend to numb with the normal amount of anaesthetic so I managed better than I thought.

I’m now just waiting to see what the pain is like when the numbness wears off

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 8 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Back from Castlemaine and a little rested now.

It's such a pretty town, that gold rush money was well spent.

Pics tomorrow.

I'm going to bed early, good night, sweet dreams. 😘😘😘

Gonna try and get to bed now. Not sure it'll work very well since I basically slept 90% of the day away

Quietish year I think this year. Big birthday in 72 days (I've been counting for the last 300). Then I finish my course in I think October (or maybe it's November? I can't bloody remember). I don't really have a whole lot else happening. I'm one of those people that needs specific dates to look forward to, or in the case of Christmas and New year, a date I dread that I can say "the sooner it comes, the sooner it goes"

Scary year, too, though

I come back with booty!

Tap for spoiler

[–] mysticgreg@aussie.zone 7 points 6 months ago (5 children)

That's not the kind of booty I was expecting.

A friend at work with challenged me to play chess a few days ago, after not mentioning it this whole first four months we have been working together very closely - when it has come up in conversation many times (it's a hobby of mine and I've mentioned a few times meeting up with friends at cafes to play), and I've played games with a few other colleagues.

I'm not very good or anything but like I kinda know what I'm doing. He has beaten me about 15 games in a row so far, in dominant fashion. The most recent game he sacrificed his queen as his third move - literally just giving up his most powerful piece on purpose to handicap himself, and he won that game too. He's incredibly good and just happened to keep that fact hidden for months for some reason. So strange and interesting!

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 6 months ago (5 children)

My sister plays backgammon and she kept nagging me to play so I crammed for about 3 months straight. Next time she asked I said "sure but go easy on me. Haven't played in years". First game I won "oh look beginners luck". Second game she won. Next 3 I won. She never asked me again.

Watched Night in Paradise this evening. Brutal (as Asian gang movies often are) but odd pacing and dynamic with a smidge of romance. Kind of satisfying ending, but just tragic.

Also watched The Roundup. I’ll never get tired of Ma Dong-seokβ€˜s characters beating up baddies. The slapping in The Outlaws cracks me up.

Off to bed soon. Need to get some nutritious food into my engine, while the indulgent food might be tasty the sluggishness is not.

Night all. ✨

Woke up with a terrible coughing fit middle of the night. Now back from doing some shopping and definitely going downhill. Cough, achy, shivers. Tested negative but I think something is going on.....

Send hope it's just post travel detox.

Ugh. Headache. I've had it since last night, but it hasn't gone away with a sleep. I thought it was a lack of water or something, but I drink a fair bit last night, and a sufficient amount since I woke up today

At least TheStenchℒ️ is fading
