/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

A ferengi with the lobes for business would make some of those portable holomatrices that the Doctor used for his singing but instead of the Doctor singing opera it would be Holo-Janeway saying her nebula line whenever you open the coffee container.

You can make a mini Holo matrix in the lid, so when opened, it activates. Less special technology.

I nominate Tolookah for Grand Nagus.

An actual facsimile would be very hackable for a small opaque coffee container.

Put a raspi with a screen addon on the underside of the hinged lid. Add a reed switch or light sensor to trigger the video gif. Maybe add a solar panel to the top of the lid to charge the device.

You know, I was about to jump on this deal but then I noticed the shipping costs

Bruh I'm not paying for shipping, no deal.

Shipping and trek fandom, name a better duo.

[–] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 1 points 6 months ago

Paying for shipping violates the Amazon Prime directive.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Shipping for what? Janeway?

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

It's just to reimburse Starfleet for the energy used in transporting her.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Starfleet doesn't even use money. What are they going to do with it? Feed it into their replicator matter storage? If so, can I just pay with dirt, or poop?

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Energy. They just need the atoms.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Then I will pay with poop and pee, far more energy for their replicators.

A recordable audio device like in those singing cards. Just load it with that line and put it on the cabinet with your coffee in it.

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Look, some things, like latinum, you just can't replicate.

[–] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

But for everything else, there’s technological advancement.

At this point I want her to tell me there's no baseball in Russia.
