Eh, I've been using ddg for about a month and it gives better results lately. I don't search that often, though. (They have AI but ask first).

And when you do go to their ai chat, it even asks you which model to use.

And their models are not even that bad.

Found better approach and implemented a Chrome extension that automatically adds -ai to your searches, so it filter out AI summaries: https://reviews.vc/ai-filter-plugin/ https://github.com/reviewsvc/ai-filter

The plugin has been submitted to the Chrome Store but has not been approved yet. It is super lightweight and will be better to install locally on its own. I personally don’t trust Chrome Store plugins :) So, you can download the archive, review the source and load it unpacked from chrome://extensions

Invest in yourself and your sanity and use kagi.com. $5/mo. for clean search results, major configurability and a simple switch to turn AI responses off.

I've been using it for months and do not miss the Google swamp at all.
