Are there any good places (sublemmys?) for warhammer AoS specifially?

There is !ageofsigmar@lemmy.ca but generally you wanna stick to the bigger places like !warhammer40k@lemmy.world due to the simple fact that the usercounts just aren't that big, and that gets worse the more you subdivide a given fandom.

I do try to cross-post to smaller communities, nothing stops you from posting to every suitable community. That way, the smaller places have a way to grow, even as they semi-hibernate in terms of activity most of the time.

Also, !grimdank@lemmy.world.

I wish there was a more active AoS community but I guess I haven't really done my part to improve anything either! Gonna have to remember to post more on Lemmy and not just the other places.

Yeah the crosspost feature is important if you want it to show up in multiple communities. That allows clients to filter out the duplicates if the user wants it that way.

You don't technically need to use the actual cross-post button. What matters is that the url being linked is the same.

That's how articles and youtube videos, even when posted separately by different people, get linked up as cross-posts.

Some clients, (like Thunder) allow you to jump between all the different cross-posts so you can see all their comments.

True but for image posts i dont know how that would work in a noob friendly intuitive way.

[–] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 week ago

If you grab the image url, and re-use it instead of uploading the image again to get a new link, it works.

Yeah this is already a little beyond me. I hope someone simplifies the whole system before too long because I'd love to drop reddit for good.

Just ignore what this nerd said (ily MentalEdge). Its like cross posting on reddit. You press the cross post button, select the community you want to crosspost to and hit send. Just read the rules but that is also nothing new.

[–] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Using the button will always work, so just do that if nothing else.

Suggestion: Post to the small community, crosspost to the big. I always check the original post and that's taken me to some niche communities. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who does that.

[–] curbstickle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Just to add to the other comment, we just call them communities here (or comms sometimes for short).

The minis look great BTW!

[–] unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 week ago

You call a group of toothy monsters a community? Actually that checks out.

[–] Kualdir@feddit.nl 14 points 1 week ago

These look terrifying I love it

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

I see good content, I upvote good content. Simple as.

Lemmy has a version of grimdank you might be interested in., but I don't know which instance it's on.

!grimdank@lemmy.world let's find out if I did that right

[–] SpiceDealer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 week ago

Squigs are fun to paint. Well done

When a squig takes a giant bite with that ginormous mouth, where does it go? The thing's digestive system must extend into another dimension.

[–] aneirin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

My headcanon is that they don't even have a digestive system at all, which means they can't properly eat anything and they're always hungry which is why they're so angry.

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

"Want some of my Chex Mix?"

[squig just stares, mouth shut]

"Oh, okay nevermind."

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

Keeping the mouth closed to digest, like most flesh eating plants?

[–] P1k1e@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

[–] PunkiBas@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Man... I wish I was this good at painting. Great work!

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Adorable squigs! I loved squigs every since playing Warhammer Age of Reckoning and seeing the squig cake they got for the launch.

[–] Sablebadger@dice.camp 6 points 1 week ago
[–] Angelusz@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Now I want to pet them.

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Those. Johnny those aren't lemmings. Oh God Johnny what did you bring home!?

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

[–] aneirin@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

I'll have you know I'm a proud grot thank you very much.

[–] Semjaza@lemmynsfw.com 5 points 1 week ago

Great squigs.

Love most of them, but one of them makes me feel uncomfortable. I think that's a good thing in rogue bouncy fungoids, or so I must tell myself.

[–] comfy@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Lovely squigs. I suppose it's Warhammer so they probably aren't smiling any time soon.

sublemmys?

Communities, or comms

[–] DerArzt@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

I've no idea what these are aside from really well done minis! I love the grime in the gums.

[–] LlamaByte 5 points 1 week ago

Couldn't look at these guys the same way after reading Gloomspite. Fuckers are terrifying. Great job though! For The bad Moon!

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

Hey these are well done! Congratulations

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nice! Did you print those yourself?

[–] aneirin@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Nah they're regular GW plastic.

[–] Rozlif@feddit.uk 2 points 1 week ago

[–] wowwoweowza@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago
