If anyone gets suspicious tell them you're just selling weed to kids.

pro tip: gandalf wears a ruana cloak, which is hilariously trivial to make and honestly just a really good piece of clothing even in modern times.
just get a big piece of rectangular fabric (as wide as your armspan, and 2x as long as the distance from your shoulders to the ground), make a cut down the middle of the short side, to the midpoint of the fabric, then sew a reinforcement at the seam so it doesn't rip up when in use.

Then just pull it over your head and bada bing bada boom gandalf cloak

It looks so comfortable. Can someone make these mainstream, please?

Buy some water resistant fabric and dewit, my buddy in highschool crafted his own for under $10 and wore it every day!

be the change you want to see
I wear one as my go-to winter clothing and it works fine, it doesn't look more strange than some of the shit some women wear, and it's way more comfortable than modern clothes.

https://cloakbrand.com/ this company sells some similar styles. My friend has one and it's been pretty sturdy so far.

they're so easy to make that buying one feels pretty nuts, just get some fabric and a pair of scissors

Yes, that is what they called me.

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

Now they call you Nigel Frobisher

I wish I could be that popular, but I'd end up talking to the folks on the wall as I debate firework integrity.

[–] Twinklebreeze@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

But gandalf talked to everybody. He got around.

Literally how I attended parties in high school.
