Except you can't play because it was a Mojang account and you didn't know to transfer it to a Microsoft account within the timeframe...

Yes I’m still salty I lost my original Minecraft account from the beta.

Fortunately, after years of not playing Minecraft, I happened to login again and transferred it to a Microsoft account. Now my kids use my same username.

Voxelibre is free and open source. It isn't quite as polished and feature rich as Minecraft, but it's at least as good as classic minecraft.

Or just get a 3rd party launcher like Prism and download the game and play in 'offline' mode.
