It is not. OP is a rent-seeking opportunist building their own closed source app that will try to upcharge you everywhere you look. If you want proof, just look at their other apps.
Here’s a review of their BlueSky app:

Its annoying, I dont like it, makes me not want pro, I havent even really used the app yet just getting hit with messages telling me to upgrade, feels antifediverse
You asked for suggestions, do not have anything in the ui that if clicked makes you pay for pro and doesnt let you use it, have one tab for pro, nothing else should lead you to that, the ui is already laggy, I accidentally click a menu option not related to pro and I get a fat popup telling me to pay for features.
Pro should be optional and burried in a menu, there shouldnt be 10 different menu items that dont function and lead you to a payment page.

Hi,
Thanks for your input! I'm sorry if this makes your experience with SoraSNS less favorable!
Like most other iOS Fediverse apps, this app contains in-app purchase to enable certain features. If you let me know which features you are looking to use in specific that triggered the purchase alert, I would make these features free or paid only after several days of usage.

Hm, that's unfortunate. Boost has a paid version, but this seems a bit more agressive
Hi! I will make sure Remy is not like that at all. You can try it yourself when it releases.
Let's see, good luck in the meantime!
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate you spending your valuable time summarizing user feedbacks for my videos for Bluesky app. 👍
As an indie developer, I understand that the balance between free user functionalities and income.
I take every comment like yours as a feedback that I will learn from. In fact, you will see that Remy will be completely different from that!
At any time, feel free to let me know how you think!
Best 😃 ❤️
I see that you decided avoid answering the question then insulted me like some kind of gaslighting genocidal politician.
Thanks for showing everyone here that your priority is profiteering and your app is subject to capitalist enshittification.
Hey man you'd come off way better if you dropped the corporate speak and talk to us like a normal person.

fyi, since your post links to
https://lemmy.world/c/remy
andhttps://lemmy.zip/c/remy
icymi the preferred way to link to communities (so that everyone can access them via their own home instance) is like this:[!remy@lemmy.zip](/c/remy@lemmy.zip)
. When someone types that in the lemmy web interface, it will auto-complete and expand it into link markup like[!remy@lemmy.zip](https://lemmy.zip/c/remy)
, but when that markup is rendered it will actually become a link to access the community via the reader's home instance. For instance, for me that link will actually go tohttps://lemmy.ml/c/remy@lemmy.zip
where i can interact with the community whereashttps://lemmy.zip/c/remy
will take me to thelemmy.zip
website where i do not have an account. Here is a non-escaped example (my previous examples are all escaped with backtick characters to prevent them from rendering) which anyone should be able to click to load it through their own instance: !remy@lemmy.zip. Please ensure that your client can both generate and follow community links like this! (as well as user links to lemmy and other activitypub things; user links work the same except they're prefixed with@
instead of!
.) -
you don't need multiple communities for your app; users from .world can post on .zip and vice-versa (and it is easy for them to if you link to the community the way described above).
-
will you ever consider open sourcing it? :)
Oh wow thank you for the detailed information! Going to update the post now.
You’ve been dodging the open source question repeatedly because IMO you’re here to make money off of our naivety.
The fediverse happily funds devs that want to help build the community. Here’s a proper fediverse style community: https://github.com/aeharding/voyager
Notice how many contributors there are and the licensing?
Neat!
Thank you ✨
Looks nice ! I'm not an iOS user but I sure love to see more clients for the Fediverse ! 😄
Awesome! Thanks for the positive words! If this app works well I will work on an Android version. But yeah I agree I believe more activities around the ecosystem will encourage even more developments.
Looks and sounds great! I don't have iOS but more great clients is always a good thing.
EDIT: I was not aware of the aggressive monetisation, that's very unfortunate.
Looks great!
