I like to mention LibreCAD as well.
While it's developed by an international team, it's free and open source and from first hand experience excelent for 2D drawing e.g. floor plans - we didn't have an accurate one for our appartment before.

I used CATIA professionally. It's a beast.
I was working on machining parts for the aircraft engines that powers most Airbus and Boeing and we were using Catia for the design and machining of the engines.

I thought AutoCAD was expensive…
Sadly not. But I‘m fine with the new Freecad release but it is always good to know some options.
