Oh I'm an uncultured swine. This meme has layers and I don't understand any but that elon is in a negative light, would anyone be willing to enlighten me?

Eta: I did the cursory Google of the song and do understand it is a known anti-facscist rebellion anthem. So I suppose if there is more to it than that I'm fascinated to learn

That's a picture of the body of Benito Mussolini.

Their bodies were left in a heap, and by 9:00 a.m. a considerable crowd had gathered. The corpses were pelted with vegetables, spat at, urinated on, shot at and kicked; Mussolini's face was disfigured by beatings.

Thank you! That is some spicy context

The image on the right is the beaten corpse of Italian fascist, Benito Mussolini, strung upside down in public.

It's not a song... It's a thing the people did to an evil person. Can you please edit your comment? This is going to confuse people.

If it's not a song, why did the lyrics pop into my head when I saw the post?

It appears you can learn something new today too https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bella_ciao

What's the most commonly used English translation of the song?

[–] al_Kaholic@lemmynsfw.com 5 points 2 months ago

"We are going to win even if I have to die.", from what I understand.

This is my favorite version of the song:

For context, this is an Italian anti-fascist song.

Love it! I've never heard the song before, but this is a great performance.

OK, so this beautiful - especially when appropriately misgendering Sieg Heiling Space Karen.
