Unlawfully detained for six weeks after being kidnapped off the street by plain-clothes officers for writing an op-ed in her school paper.

But Kamala had a funny laugh.

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wasn't it also written something like a year ago, too?

Thought crime is thought crime.

Not the reason Kamala wasn't elected.

People want change. Kamala did not represent that. We are at a point where people will choose a fucking orange clown NPD if it means change. Dems have to put up or shut up.

This is on them as much as it is on Trump and his followers. Those people always exist. It's on the alternatives in politics to offer a better option. They have not for some time now.

Not to mention that the dems have actively subverted anyone who steps forward to offer said alternative.

Hitler got elected because people wanted change. And he was appearently very popular at first, with a very unique, strong and beautiful voice and nice blue eyes that the ladies went for. Tons of charisma.

Of course almost all mentions of Hitler shows him as a raving lunatic, because thats how we want people to think about him. But its dangerous, because it doesnt show how someone like that actually ended up in power and was popular and listened to by the entire country. How he did that is what we need to pay attention to. He probably had a simular mix of charisma, confidence and even charm that the orange man has.

You guys have to be careful to not let Trumpster get too far. They never teach at school how to go against leaders, because they want obedient workers. But you have to learn that and realize how some peoples brains are tricked into supporting someone like this.

You're exactly right. Which is why my point is that in our two party system, the "left" has to put up an inspiring candidate to beat him. Hitler and Trump are essentially the same archetype, rejected narcissists who prey on people's fear by feeding them scapegoats. About 30% of the population has narcissistic, authoritarian sentiments at any given time. So for such a person to come to power, they only need to suppress the opposition below a plurality of 30%.

In Nazi Germany, Hitler came to power because the left was fractured by bickering among the many factions. They refused to unite into a coalition to address the problems of the Great Depression.

In MAGA America, we have the two party system which prevents voter fracturing, but the liberals are refusing to embrace the need for change and thus suppressing their own voter base below the 30% by platforming the status quo while people are suffering and unhappy.

Still not the reason that Kamela wasn't confirmed.

They stole the election. The proof is right there in the first and last link. The two videos in the middle explain in excruciating detail what the data of the last link is saying.

Really doesn't matter and you're missing the point. I agree there was obvious voter suppression. But it was probably 1% swing at most. She might have squeaked out a win if the math works out in hypotheticals... at the end of the day it doesn't matter.

Point is, she could have easily crushed Trump if she had appealed to a better narrative. She stuck with the status quo and ultimately that was about as equally appealing to voters as fascism...

At least Israel is safe, god forbid the Dems were to actually act on principles for once

[–] Rookwood@lemmy.dbzer0.com 37 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It doesn't mention it in the article but the administration cancelled her visa without notifying her 5 days before she was arrested. This is part of the reasoning they were using to detain her. Is her visa re-instated? If not, then she is now illegal and has been effectively deported, nonetheless.

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No human can be illegal. You mean undocumented (at no fault of her own)

[–] 3abas@lemm.ee 4 points 1 week ago

She's very well documented. If they revoked her visa, she's here illegally. That doesn't say anything about the legality of revoking her visa or the ethics of it, she's not an illegal person, but she's here illegally. And they'll use that against her.

Just imagine how utterly fucked this woman’s life is. Gone for 6 weeks. Does she still have her job? Does she still have a place to live? Does she still qualify for her school credits? Not to mention, her name and general location are public knowledge.

I can’t see how her life isn’t utterly fucked.

[–] Jimmycakes@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

She will sue and get enough money to unfuck it crowd funded by the tax payers. Although I'm sure she would have rather not hold through that ordeal in exchange for it all.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

Well, great ... I'm honestly shocked.

[–] throwawayacc0430@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Just curious, is it possible for this person to like... transfer any credits earned into like a Canadian university?

Because I'm not sure how much of use is a US diploma is if the country collapses.

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 4 points 1 week ago

Yes. But likely you'll loose some percent of those credits.

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

The republican traitor filth must be made to suffer.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

And I thought school detention now was bad...

Hide your children, another dangerous criminal out on the loose. Why can't we use AI to just predict all the future evils people like this will do so we can just keep them locked up??! Someone needs to work on this!

Sorry for posting here but my Truth social account is on a 90day ban for saying that I thought MTG was looking a little less bangable lately.
