This is neat, are there ones for other game hardware companies too? Been a fan of the google graveyard for years.

RIP Google Wave, you were a real one.

[–] Prathas@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Wasn't that basically just a precursor to the real-time editing that Google Docs, etc. got?

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 4 points 1 month ago

It was yeah. Most of the critical features got rolled into other Google stuff, but it was still a cool platform nonetheless.

Screenshot of the Shametendo website: Supporting Companies with Better Practices. By supporting companies with better ethical practices, consumers can encourage positive change in the industry. Companies with Consumer-Friendly Policies: • Valve (Steam) - Generous refund policies, support for modding, and platform openness. • Xbox (Microsoft) - Game Pass (the rest is cut off)

yea okay. the genocidal tech company that buys every studio it can to create a monopoly on gaming is a more ethical alternative to nintendo. okay.

i think a section with indie games similar to nintendo’s games would’ve been cool, yknow stuff like bug fables, tunic or mindwave, instead of "If you don’t like Nintendo you can buy an Xbox! 😃"

game pass is not consumer-friendly, when it bundle a bunch of thing and force us to buy them all. Especially, when game pass and battle pass become more similar to each other

[–] gradual 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah, I always lose respect for people whenever they recommend game pass.

It just outs them as a useful idiot with more money than sense.

It also lists PSN as a better subscription alternative. You know, from the company that bought Crunchyroll and decided to delete people's anime purchases, that also deleted purchased games from people's accounts in 2024 due to a bug, that had two major database breaches...

The site does have a section that mentions alternative games to Nintendo's, like super tux world and super tux kart, as well as some fan games like Another Metroid 2 Remake

From the company that put root kits on music CDs...

Before clicking I already assumed microsoft and sony were going to be named as options, who are arguably worse companies. While Nintendo is doing shitty stuff, I don’t see the equal uproar against the other companies. My only assumption is Nintendo’s strict stance against emulation is clashing with lemmy’s pirate culture.

[–] gradual 1 points 1 month ago

Microsoft? Lmao, whoever made this is clueless.

How about we use our brains instead of our wallets and pirate everything we can be getting for free?

[–] ninjabard@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

Nintendon't was right there.

[–] marduk@lemmy.sdf.org 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I can't summon my pals in palworld by chucking the sphere any more, thanks to Nintendo patenting that game mechanic

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 7 points 1 month ago

Also no more using pals as gliders. Thanks, Furukawa-fuck

Works for me

[–] hobbsc@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 1 month ago

Hopefully some of their older actions will be listed in the future as well like the rental store manual copying debacle and that sort of thing. Would be neat to see some of the historical issues.

I'm happy for you. It's still down for me:

[–] gradual 1 points 1 month ago

Stop giving them your money.

Don't get excited for a switch 2.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world -3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I mean you do you but this is a prime example of bandwagon and hardly warrants a whole website.

[–] gradual 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Maybe it's easier for this person to make a website than it is for you because they're more skilled at it.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

That's definitely true but not at all the point I was making.

[–] SharkAttak@kbin.melroy.org 1 points 1 month ago

It's not bandwagon if it just tries to show that Nintendo is not the nice friendly company of ♥️Mario&Pikachu♥️
