I could see a tattoo of my personal ID number being a good idea, put it on my ankle where my sock can cover it up.

So should I die and loose my normal ID, the police can use the ID number on my ankle to help them identify me.

Will your tattooist be able to correctly parse it, or will you get &nbsp on your forehead?

My next tattoo will be some isopods crawling around some mushrooms. It'll most likely go on my thigh. It'll fit in with my mainly nature themed tattoos that I already have.

Right now I have both my arms and ribs done but nothing down below. It look so bare down there when I wear shorts.

I'm not sure tbh. I had a plan in place, but never had the funding to move forward with it.

So, if it wasn't going to be completing everything, I think I'd go simple with a one-off.

And I think I'd go with a Vonnegut reference. Maybe a tralfamadorian, maybe a little poo-tee-weet birdy, maybe just an *. But something like that.

A complete bodysuit depicting the Shimbara rebellion and Amakusa Shirō. Not because they were Christian--duh--but because they fought against the repressive Tokugawa regime, even if they ultimately lost.

I really hate tattoos so I dunno. Agalloch emblem I guess.

Who or what is Agalloch? I am guessing a Scottish or Irish football team?

Curious what you thought :) if you aren't already into metal it might be slightly too extreme but that riff is kind of like "sweet child of mine" lol

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I like some metal and metal adjacent music. The music was nice but repetitive? I didn't feel like it went anywhere for much of the song. Growled or screamed lyrics are often hard to understand, and I only followed this one because I found a lyric video.

It's fine for background music for me, but I don't think I'd stop what I was doing to listen.

Thank you for sharing it!

This is a common opinion of agalloch - some friends whose tastes I respect very much also say the same as you lol

Minus the growled vocals critique. Growled vocals in metal should be thought of as more of an instrument to fill that area of the mix. Understandable lyrics are just a bonus

I like to sing along in the car, so intelligible lyrics count for a lot for me personally. I have tried the screaming and growling and it's great fun, even though it does hurt after a while!

the bracelet looking ones look kinda cool and non intrusive.

Ever since it came to my awareness, I've wanted a boy kisser tattoo. I've never found anything else I have wanted permanently inked onto my body, except that cutie.

  1. flag
  2. blood type
  3. health number (it's like a Social number but it's separate for our health system)
  4. a "medic alert" detail I have

I can't think of anything else I'd want to get, but I figure that'd be useful. People would know I only sound like Americans because I was in-country on an H1 for a while and it ruined my accent, and if I was unconscious there's breadcrumbs to go look my shit up.

I guess it'd have to be on an arm or something; I dunno where medicos look first.

Possibly a small cartoon pig nose on my butt cheek

Either the piece I've been wanting on my upper arm forever of an illustration of camping in the redwoods. Or a botanical drawing, maybe a stippled one, of a fern on my shin up to my knee

I have always wanted some spacecraft. Voyager, Mariner, a Shuttle system, a Buran, some of the mars rovers.

I'm just too scared to get something I'll regret, either because my tastes change or the art turns out to be poor.
