Wireless xbox controller is what I use any time I need a wireless controller. I have an old xbox one s bluetooth controller.

8bitdo makes some good controllers that offer better value than the first party ones. I have the older sn30pro+ and while I would like a pro 2 mine still works so I’m not in any rush to buy it.
I think any Bluetooth controller? My Shield works with the following:
- PS4 controller
- Xbox controller
- Shield controller (obviously)
- Stadia controller
No idea about Apple TV, but my guess would be that all except the Shield controller work well with it.
Cool! I've read about people having issues with 8BitDo controllers. Might have been 2.4GHz controllers then. 8BitDO naming and number of versions are a big mess...
8Bitdo is good. I have the Pro 2 and it's quite nice.
That said my current favorite controller is my RetroFighters BattlerGC Pro
