Walmart heiress Christy Walton is facing backlash, and Walmart is facing some calls for a boycott from Trump supporters after placing a full-page ad in The New York Times urging Americans to attend town halls and engage in civic discourse.

While the "No Kings Day" ad did not mention President Donald Trump by name, its emphasis on values like honoring commitments to allies, defending against dictators, and respecting trading partners was widely interpreted as a critique of Trump's foreign policy and "America First" agenda.

If you've been to any of the areas that are predominantly Republican or MAGA, there's no other choice. Walmart's going to be just fine (predatory practices, shit quality, and abusive employment practices, aside).

Imagine being so intelkectuslly and ethically bankrupt that you'd want to boycott s store chain because someone involved in it dared to run an ad promoting "values like honoring commitments to allies, defending against dictators, and respecting trading partners."

So now, to the MAGAs, honor, integrity, liberty and respect are evils that must be opposed in favor of Trump's ideals of dishonor, dishonesty, tyranny and disrespect

Seriously, I expect that future histories are going to record that the US collapsed in an inexplicable avalanche of stupidity and insanity.

You know you are on the wrong side of history when Walmart is even like “dude, what the fuck?”

But where will they buy all of their garbage now? Target?

Honestly I hope they stick to their guns here and manage to starve themselves. In most of their shitbox racist hovels Walmart is the only place to get almost anything.

“Stick to their guns” is a nice, relatable phrasing choice. It seems that words like “honor” and “integrity” would just confuse them.

MAGA boycotts Walmart because of woke and Leftists boycott Target because they abandoned DEI, end up trading businesses

They come waddling back. They always do.

Best possible scenario.

From what I understand, people are overblowing how much of an heiress she is.

I read she married into the family, did barely anything with the company, and inherited some money when her husband died.

A mostly unconnected person using Walmart's money to advertise against Trump and that also causing a right-wing boycott of Walmart is awesome. Maybe both will crash

Yeah right, maga ain't giving up cheap crap for anybody. They might say they are, but they'll be back in line tomorrow.

Oh no! Those broke fuckers are boycotting one of 2 places they can afford to shop! Looks like it's Dollar Store/General for them!
